LIFESTYLE

It's six in the morning, and I'm behind the wheel,
425 horses and 80,000 pounds of steel.

I hit the interstate really feeling good,
and the early morning sunlight glistens on my Kenworth's hood.

I run through the gears as if they were a part of me,
and I can't think of anyplace I would rather be.

I don't pay rent or utility bills,
there's just me and my truck, and these west Virginia hills.

I feel that i am living the American dream,
I am a paid tourist or so it would seem.

From the South Dakota mountains to Portland Maine,
from Miami Florida to the Texas plains.

I have seen a lot of country, and had a lot of fun,
building snowmen in Michigan, and watching bikinis in the Florida sun.

It's not the life for everyone, this life on the road,
it's up early, and to bed late hauling that load.

but it's my life, and one that I enjoy,
a lifestyle that i have dreamed of since i was a little boy.
